ADR in Little Miss Maximalist

Anna Dello Russo by Juergen Teller for W

I could preach about  minimalism all day - I'm addicted to that streamlined, uncomplicated wonderland. It's hard to do so though, after seeing these pictures of ADR's apartment. First of all, let me preface this by saying that I absolutely love her. She's so fabulous, isn't she - so much more exciting than most fashion people. Thus, I may be a little bias, but after seeing an editorial in W of her apartment all I wanted to do was go out and buy clutter and paint everything gold. That leopard print is pretty enticing too.

kaftan

1. Camilla Kaftan
2. Chanel Resort '11

I was at a beach side cafe once when I saw a 20-something girl in a pink, white & yellow kaftan, wayfarers, bare-footed and fresh faced with her hair pulled back into a bun. That was three years ago and to this day I still hold that girl's look as the epitomy of effortlessly chic summer dressing. She looked so fresh, so cool. I searched high and low for a kaftan like her's, and while I didn't find one I became entranced with many others - the outrageously beautiful prints and hues are irresistable. While they may have these intricate patterns they are simultaneously simple, just something you throw on and walk out the door. They can be dressed up - heels, a myriad of jewelry - but that isn't what kaftans are about to me; they should be left uncomplicated.

p.s. check this out - resort brights. Just what I needed!

christmas wishlist

While a White Christmas is a particularly enchanting idea, I just can't envision Christmas without sweltering heat and poolside barbeques. There's something about the combination of it all, the glittering water, the seafood, the scorching sun that creates a wonderful, ebullient atmosphere and is so refreshing. I suppose this is true of Australian summer in general, which has grown on me after the ridiculously awful weather. The vibrant hues - the rich orange of lobster shell encasing beautifully white flesh, the delicious pink of watermelons and my favourite, the unimaginably pure aqua of the ocean to name a few - are so beautifully unadulterated. Simple and uncomplicated. So this Christmas my wishlist is focused around channeling this sartorially, and I thought these might come in handy...

1. Ksubi Shorts, $200
2. One Teaspoon Dress, $250
p.s. I'm not sure if you can tell from this photo, but the bustier of this dress is pearl encrusted. Incredible.
3. White Sands Bikini, $189
4. Billy Bride Rings, $differ

in love

This will probably sound incredibly ridiculous but I watched the Miley Cyrus bong video and all I could concentrate on was her insanely beautiful Pamela Love Arrowhead Ring. I've drooled over it a million times on Polyvore, but never seen it gracing someones finger. Speaking broadly, it isn't particularly versatile, yet in terms of my style it would be; I would wear this anytime, with anything. I love that her collections have somewhat of a Gothic, haunting undertone yet manage to be exceptionally sophisticated. Her famous talon cuff is pretty spectacular too...
